New Jersey Governor-elect Phil Murphy recently announced the leaders and members of his transition team and committees. The following Heldrich Center for Workforce Development researchers are involved in the transition:
Dr. Carl Van Horn, director of the Heldrich Center and Distinguished Professor of public policy at Rutgers University, is serving as senior advisor to the transition for strategy and policy. He is also a co-chair of the stronger and fairer economy committee.
Kathy Krepcio, executive director of the Heldrich Center, is a member of the human and children services committee.
Maria Heidkamp, senior researcher at the Heldrich Center and director of the New Start Career Network, is a co-chair of the labor and workforce development committee.
Additionally, the following Heldrich Center national advisory board members are part of the gubernatorial transition:
Dennis Bone is serving on the labor and workforce development committee. Bone is director of the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship at Montclair State University.
Laurence M. Downes, chair of the Heldrich Center’s national advisory board, is a co-chair of the stronger and fairer economy committee. Downes is chairman of the board and CEO of New Jersey Resources.
Oliver Quinn is a member of the urban and regional growth committee. Quinn is senior counselor at Taft and Partners.
Bill Waldman is a member of the human and children services committee. Waldman is a professor at the School of Social Work at Rutgers University. Previously, he was commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services.
Melanie Willoughby is on the labor and workforce development committee. Willoughby is chief government affairs officer at the New Jersey Business and Industry Association.
Charlie Wowkanech is serving on the labor and workforce development committee. Wowkanech is president of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO.
